How to play

1. Start a game on one device and you'll get a four-letter room code.
2. Friends join by entering that code — on their phones or at pictaphone.app.
3. Once everyone's in, the host taps Start Game. Write a secret prompt, then take turns: the next player draws it, the next guesses the drawing, the next draws that guess, and so on.
4. At the end, replay the whole chain together and watch your idea turn into glorious nonsense.

You need at least two players to start. No account or sign-up is required — just pick a name.

Common questions

I can't join a room

Double-check the four-letter code (it's not case-sensitive), make sure the game hasn't already started, and confirm you have an internet connection. If a friend created the room, they need to keep the app open.

The game disconnected or froze

Check your connection and reopen the app — you can rejoin the same room with your code and name. If a game seems stuck, the host can start a new room.

How do I report something inappropriate?

On the results screen, tap the small flag on any drawing, prompt, or guess to report it. We review reports and can block the device behind abusive content. See our Terms of Use for our zero-tolerance policy.

Is it free?

Yes — Pictaphone is free to play, with no ads.
